ZambiaNow
Privacy
ZambiaNow is an independent editorial service operated remotely by an individual based in Russia. It is not presented as a company registered in Zambia. This notice explains how personal information submitted through the website is handled and does not claim any particular registration status.
Why we use information
We use personal information to answer messages, review listings and corrections, assess promotion or partnership enquiries, verify submitted facts and rights, prevent abuse, keep a moderation record and operate the website. We use information with your consent where requested, to take steps you ask us to take, for proportionate security and editorial-integrity purposes, and where applicable law requires it.
Information we collect
Depending on the form, this may include your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, organisation and role; a business location, coordinates, category, hours, public website or social links; your message, indicative budget and photo links; plus request time, basic technical and security records and a submission reference.
Verified business facts may become public after editorial review. Personal contact details are not published unless they are separately verified as public business contact information.
Forms, attachments and children
Forms currently accept fields and photo links rather than direct file uploads. Do not send identity documents, financial details, passwords or sensitive personal information unless ZambiaNow specifically requests an appropriate secure method. This service is not directed to children. Do not submit a child's personal information or image unless a parent or guardian has authorised it and the submission is necessary.
Service providers and storage
Authorised administrators handle requests. Hosting, security, analytics, email or messaging infrastructure may process limited information on ZambiaNow's behalf. An internal notification may contain the request type, name, contact method, organisation, reference and private admin link, but not the full message.
Because ZambiaNow is operated remotely and uses infrastructure outside Zambia, submitting a form may involve processing personal information outside Zambia. ZambiaNow limits collection to information needed for the request and applies organisational and technical safeguards. Contact us if you need information about the providers relevant to your request.
The operator's legal name and service address are not yet published, and ZambiaNow has not publicly confirmed DPC registration or an approved basis or mechanism for storage or processing outside Zambia. Those points remain unresolved rather than completed by this notice.
Analytics choices
Non-essential analytics and session-replay technology should run only after the relevant consent choice. Form fields are not analytics content and must be masked from session replay. You may decline or withdraw analytics consent without losing access to listings, corrections or contact forms. Essential security and rate-limiting records may still be used to keep the service working.
How long we keep information
Analytics event records are kept for up to 90 days. Open or disputed requests are kept while they are being handled. Contact details and messages in closed enquiries, approved submissions and rejected submissions are erased after 12 months. Non-personal business facts and a minimal editorial audit record may remain for accuracy, duplicate prevention and dispute handling. Rotating operational database backups may retain an earlier copy for up to 14 additional days.
When contact data is erased, the private receipt key is also replaced and can no longer retrieve the old request. A receipt key stored in your browser remains there until you clear the browser's session storage.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable Zambian law, you may ask to be informed about processing and request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability; object to processing or direct marketing; withdraw consent; and ask for human review of a solely automated decision. ZambiaNow does not use a form submission to make a solely automated publication or commercial decision.
Use Contact, choose "Privacy request", and include the relevant page or request reference. Do not send identity documents in the first message. ZambiaNow may ask for proportionate verification before disclosing or changing personal information.
Questions and complaints
Please contact ZambiaNow first so the request can be investigated. You may also contact Zambia's Data Protection Commission or submit a complaint through its official website at dataprotection.gov.zm. Nothing in this notice limits rights available under the Data Protection Act, 2021.
